NordVPN was created in 2012. To use it, you had to download a special self-configuration file and set up everything yourself, which wasn’t especially convenient. In 2013, NordVPN’s app for Windows made things much simpler. We had a thousand users, which seemed huge! From 2014 onwards, you could get our support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. We were the first premium VPN to provide it. In 2015, iOS and macOS users could use NordVPN too! In 2016, our users could choose from 550 VPN servers in 50 countries. Also, NordVPN became available on Android. In 2017, NordVPN extensions for Chrome and Firefox allowed you to encrypt your browsing traffic only. In 2018 NordVPN became available on every major platform. In addition, we set a new standard for VPN transparency with a no-logs audit. All along the way, we saw that you need more protection from various cyber threats. So in 2019, we launched new products: to secure your passwords, files, and even businesses. In 2020, NordLynx, our innovative tunneling solution, became the default VPN protocol. NordVPN’s servers also went through a speed and security upgrade.
