How to temporarily lock your account

In this video we show you how to temporarily lock your account for any reason. If you notice suspicious activity on your account, follow these steps right away: Lock your account. See the details below on how to temporarily lock your account, which prevents access to your Coinbase account and restricts funds from leaving it. Secure your email and devices. Reset your email password and check for any unfamiliar rules, filters, forwarding addresses, or recovery emails. Scan your devices with anti-virus software and ensure that your device software is updated to the latest version. This protects your accounts and devices from potential malware threats that could be used to steal your sign-in credentials to gain unauthorized access to your account(s). Important: Once you've locked your account, you'll be required to complete account access steps to get back in. Secure your email Hackers may compromise your email to gain access to your Coinbase account or to try to block Coinbase emails from getting to you. Check if you can still sign in to your email. If your email has been compromised, you'll need to contact your email provider to shut down your account or change your email password. Change your email password if you still have access to the email account. Turn on 2-step verification if you don’t already have it set-up. Recover your account Once all of your accounts are secure and your passwords are updated, you'll need to get back in to your Coinbase account.
